It was decided for stability's sake that it would be better to standthe three cake tiers one on top of the other instead of separating thelayers with pillars. The cake consisted of three Victoria spongescovered with marzipan and Royal icing. The colour was applied in twoseparate layers of pink and blue using an atomiser, with sugar rosesand silver balls to complete the effect. It took a total of 10 hoursover two days to bake and decorate all three layers.
